Troja Chateau is one of the most beautiful Baroque buildings in Prague, and it is easy to see why couples ask about it. It is also easy to get wrong, because several websites describe it as a garden venue. It is not. Here is what the chateau itself publishes.
The ceremony is indoors, in the Imperial Hall
Civil ceremonies at Troja take place inside, in the painted Imperial Hall. The hall can hold up to 200 people for events. The chateau lists ceremonies on Fridays at 10:30 and 12:00. It does not offer ceremonies in the garden.
What it costs
The published fee for the ceremony in the Imperial Hall is CZK 20,000 excluding VAT. The page is undated, so confirm the current price when you book. The registry official is not included: you arrange that yourselves, for example through the Prague 7 registry office.
Good to know before you book
- The hall and the garden are closed to visitors during your ceremony and photos, so you have the place to yourselves.
- The Marble Hall holds about 40 people and the Stables about 180. The garden is listed for up to 500 guests for events, but not for ceremonies.
- Friday morning slots suit small groups and couples who want quiet light in the hall. If you want a Saturday party, plan the reception elsewhere.
For photographs
The hall has painted walls and ceilings that photograph best in the soft daylight of the 10:30 slot. After the ceremony, the chateau grounds and the nearby Vltava embankment give you a quiet walk away from the crowds of the Old Town. Ask the chateau how much time you may have for photos before you sign, because the building is closed to visitors only for the time you book.
How to book
Write to the chateau’s wedding contact, svatby@ghmp.cz, with your preferred Friday. For the full legal side (documents, translations and interpreter), read our legal wedding guide, and compare other places in our guide to Prague wedding venues.
Details checked against the Prague City Gallery’s wedding page in October 2026. Fees and slots can change.
