Bridal Makeup for a Prague Wedding

Wedding makeup has to do two things at once: look right in the room and look right in the photographs. Those are not the same. Camera flash flattens, and heavy powder or SPF-loaded base can read as a pale mask in flash photography. A makeup artist who works regularly with wedding photographers will know this; it is a fair question to ask directly.

The Trial

Bring photographs of your dress, your hair plan and any reference looks, and go with a clean face. Wear the trial for a full day and photograph yourself in daylight and indoors — that is the real test, not the mirror in the studio.

Timing and Conditions

Allow 60–90 minutes for the bride and 30–45 for each additional person. Tell the artist whether your ceremony is outdoors: Prague summers are hot and humid and winters are dry and cold, and the products that survive each are different. If you are having a sunrise photoshoot on Charles Bridge, the start time may be earlier than you expect.
