Choosing the Right Ensemble Size

For a ceremony, a solo violin or a duo is usually enough and often better — the sound is intimate and does not overwhelm a small space or compete with the vows. A string quartet suits a larger ceremony, a drinks reception in a garden, or a grand hall where a smaller ensemble would be lost. Harp and violin carries particularly well outdoors, where sound disperses quickly.

Where This Works in Prague

String music is permitted in most Prague venues that restrict amplified bands, which makes it the practical choice for Baroque gardens, heritage halls and church ceremonies where a PA is not allowed. If your venue has a 22:00 amplified-music curfew, acoustic strings usually fall outside it — but confirm with the venue rather than assuming.

Planning Notes

Agree the processional, the signing music and the recessional in advance, and give the ensemble a contact who can signal the cues on the day. Outdoor ceremonies need shade for the instruments in summer and a covered fallback in poor weather.
