Choosing the Right Ensemble Size

For a ceremony, a solo violin or a duo is usually enough and often better — the sound is intimate and does not overwhelm a small space or compete with the vows. A string quartet suits a larger ceremony, a drinks reception in a garden, or a grand hall where a smaller ensemble would be lost.
