Žofín Palace Weddings: Halls, Capacities and What to Check First

Žofín Palace is a large 19th-century neo-Renaissance palace on Slavonic Island in the Vltava, a few minutes’ walk from the Old Town. It is built for big events, which makes it a good fit for larger weddings and a poor fit for an intimate elopement.

The halls and their capacities

These are the figures the palace publishes. It lists weddings among the events it hosts but does not state whether civil ceremonies are held there, and it publishes no prices: you contact the sales team.

Check who operates the venue on your date

In August 2026 the current operator published a statement about a lease dispute with the Prague 1 district. The district has chosen a new tenant through a tender, while the current operator says its lease runs until 2034 and the court case is ongoing. This should not stop you from enquiring, but get written confirmation of who will run the venue on your wedding date before you pay a deposit.
