A live band changes the shape of a reception in a way a playlist cannot: the evening moves in sets, the room fills and empties with the music, and there is a focal point that is not the bar. The trade-off is space, power and volume \u2014 three things that Prague’s historic venues are often strict about.<\/p>\n
Ask how many musicians, how much floor space and how many power sockets they need, how long the setup and soundcheck take, and how the sets are structured across the evening. Confirm whether they provide their own PA and lighting, and whether they can also cover the ceremony or the drinks reception, or only the dance floor.<\/p>\n
Many Prague venues impose a decibel limit, an amplified-music curfew (commonly 22:00 in heritage buildings and city gardens), or both. Get your venue’s rules in writing and share them with the band before signing \u2014 it is the single most common cause of a difficult conversation on the night.<\/p>\n
